In the Kaluga Museum of Fine Arts (Lenin St., 103), the exhibition "The Sun in the Workshop" opens, which represents the work of the artist Ulyana Vladimirovna Sheremetyeva.
U.V. Sheremetyeva is a multifaceted personality. Music, painting, literature early entered her world and became an integral part of life. He studied at the Leningrad Secondary Art School named after Johanson and at the Moscow Higher Art and Industrial School, now the Academy named after S. G. Stroganov. Since 1993, the artist lives and works in Potsdam.
U.V. Sheremetyeva is a participant in numerous art exhibitions and art festivals held in Germany, Russia, Israel, winner of graphic art competitions of large-scale projects Russian Art Week International and Art Geography, member of the jury of international art competitions for children and youth. She is a member of the International Art Fund, the Creative Union of Artists of Russia, the Union of Artists of Germany, the State of Brandenburg, the Commonwealth of Russian-Speaking Writers of Germany. Her paintings are in private collections in Russia, Germany and other European countries. In 2016, the Creative Union of Artists of Russia, U. V. Sheremetev, was awarded the Silver Medal “For Contribution to Russian Art”.
The exposition of the opening exhibition presents more than 40 decorative still lifes. The works are executed in the same technique - tempera on paper, and represent three thematic series: “Workshop”, “Travel”, “Flowers”. The unusual manner of execution makes the author’s signature distinctive and memorable. And the works themselves, sonorous and at the same time lyrical, leave no doubt that this genre is inexhaustible. The figurative system of work, outwardly laconic, is rich, however, with emotions and associations. Traditions and innovation in the works of Sheremetyeva intertwine, creating a special plastic language. The artist’s palette is rich in color, and the manner of execution is a confident stroke in combination with the melodiousness of the silhouettes. Her work, as it were, confirms the paradoxical idea that a still life is not dead, but living nature.
The exhibition will run until May 14, 2017 in the premises of the Information and Educational and Exhibition Center of the KIII (103 Lenin St.).
The museum is open from 10.00 to 18.00, on Saturday from 11.00 to 19.00. Monday is the day off. Contact phone - 8 (4842) 56-38-20.
