On June 10 at 16.00 in the Gallery of Siberian Art (Karl Marx St., 23) the exhibition "Tale of Baikal", dedicated to the Year of Baikal in Russia, starts its work. The exposition includes more than 30 objects of painting and decorative and applied art, dedicated to one of the favorite themes in the work of Siberian artists. The exhibition will be of interest to both Irkutsk residents and guests of the city.
Sacred Lake Baikal has inspired artists at all times. The painters strove to capture the different states of the great lake-sea. In the works presented at the exhibition, one can see both calm and majestic Baikal landscapes, and an angry natural element. The exhibition contains paintings by recognized masters of the Irkutsk school of painting: Anatoly Kostovsky, Vitaly Rogal, Ivan Yushkov, as well as artists of the younger generation. The painters who painted Baikal also turned to still life. Bright works in this genre were created by the artists Anvar Zakirov and the Buryat artist Maria Metelkina. The exposition is complemented by items of decorative and applied art, as well as sculptures by the Honored Artist of Russia Lev Serikov.
The exhibition "The Tale of Baikal" will be open at the Gallery of Siberian Art (Karl Marx St., 23) until August 22.
