March 21 at 16.00 in the library "Bronnitskaya" (Klinsky 17) will open an exhibition of "woolen watercolors" by artist Julia Chaika. Visitors will be presented with more than 20 paintings painted without the usual paints and brushes, and with the help of colored fibers of the finest wool of the Australian merino. In addition to the author’s stories, “woolen” works based on paintings by famous artists will be exhibited.
“Woolen watercolor” is a relatively new type of decorative and applied art, combining elements of painting and needlework. Thanks to the flexibility of the material, as well as the skillful use of a variety of techniques for working with it, completely unusual artworks are obtained!
Seagull Julia is a young Petersburg artist. She inherited her talent and love for painting - her grandfather and his sibling were artists. Julia managed to fully reveal her creative potential precisely in the “wool”.
Julia is the winner of the II International Professional Competition of Masters of Decorative and Applied Arts and Folk Art “The World Around Us UNESCO” in the category “Master of Golden Hands” and the winner of the international competition for decorative and applied art in the category “Decorative Painting” at the Russian Art Week (Moscow).
