May 12 at 16.00 in the Gallery of Siberian Art of the Irkutsk Regional Art Museum. V.P. Sukachev (st. Karl Marx, 23) opens the exhibition "Shelekhovsky Opening Day", dedicated to the 55th anniversary of the city of Shelekhov.
The opening exhibition is a rare opportunity to see the works of Shelekhov artists in a single exposition space, to catch common features in the works of various artists. The exhibition presents both names well-known to the Irkutsk viewer and unfamiliar ones. Gennady Shikhalev, Victor Shargin, Andrey Rostovtsev, Petr Lazurkov, Vladimir Kurchinsky, Marina Alferova, Olga Olifir, Vera Dyuzheva and others (15 authors in total) - many of them graduated from the Irkutsk Art School and are now teaching at the Shelekhov Art School named after Surikov.
“Despite the fact that the work of each of these artists is individual and distinctive, in general, one can trace some common features of this art group,” notes the curator of the exhibition, a researcher at the Irkutsk Art Museum named after V.P. Sukacheva Anna Potapova. “Juicy colors, attention to textures and simple plots, sincere admiration for Siberian nature, its direct perception - this is what distinguishes these authors from other artists of the Angara region.”
The exhibition presents painting, graphics, sculpture and arts and crafts. In total - more than 40 works.
The opening of the Shelekhov Vernissage exhibition will take place on May 12 at 16.00 at the Siberian Art Gallery of the Irkutsk Regional Art Museum named after V.P. Sukachev (St. Karl Marx, 23). Entrance to the opening of the exhibition is free. The exposition will run until May 31. Inquiries by phone : 33-41-12, 33-43-89.
