The inhabitants of Novosibirsk will first see the works of Western Europe from the collection of the Irkutsk Art Museum. December 20 at the Novosibirsk State Art Museum opens the exhibition "Masterpieces of European masters of the XVII - early XX century" from the collection of the Irkutsk Regional Art Museum. V.P. Sukachev.
The exhibition brings together 44 paintings and graphic works by artists from Holland, Italy, France, Germany, the Czech Republic, gives an idea of the styles, schools and plot diversity of Western European art of the XVII - early XX centuries. The works of famous masters - Govert Flink, Constant Troyon, Narcisso Diaz de La Peña, Claude Monet, Camille Pissarro and Federico Zandomenegi - are adjacent to the beautiful canvases of little-known, but no less talented painters.
The earliest canvases date back to the 17th century - the period of rapid formation of national art schools in Europe. So, the most striking example of the landscape of this time is the work of the talented student of the great Rembrandt van Rijn - Govert Flink "Landscape with a herd." The latest painting to date is The Woman’s Portrait by Italian Giuseppe Mascarini, dated 1907.
Another work dating back to the beginning of the 20th century is considered to be a real gem of the collection of the Irkutsk Art Museum - this is a small sketch “Seagulls. Thames, Parliament ”by Claude Monet, in which the velvety picturesque texture of the pastel is likened to a finely and harmoniously woven decorative fabric.
All the works presented at the exhibition rarely leave the Irkutsk Art Museum and for the first time in this composition are brought to the attention of the inhabitants of Novosibirsk. The exhibition will work in the Novosibirsk State Art Museum until March 17, 2019, after which all works will return to Irkutsk.
