For the first time on such a grandiose scale, the contemporary art gallery of the Pushkin Museum of the Republic of Tajikistan presents the work of one master - Tatar artist Shamil Murtazovich Shaidullin. The artist’s works are presented on three thousand square meters: the Tatar people and their holidays (Sabantuy); global triptychs dedicated to the national poets of Russia, the tragedy of the fall of Kazan in the 16th century, the last Kazan tsarina Suyumbika, the fate and work of Gabdulla Tukay. In the range of the artist’s creative searches are the tragic collisions of the 20th century: revolution, war, the fall and collapse of empires, where the main character remains a man, his search for eternal philosophical truths. In the same vein of deep reflection, the last-in-time large-scale pictorial and graphic series “Dedication to the Black Square by Kazimir Malevich” (2014–2015) appears.
Sh. M. Shaidullin is an artist, one of the few who, with pain and trepidation, responds to pivotal, dramatic global plots in the history of mankind. The name of Shaidullin is widely known not only in the republic, but also abroad. A graduate of the Kazan Art College (1968), the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. I.E. Repin in Leningrad (workshop of E. E. Moiseenko) (1974), the Creative workshop of painting under the direction of H. A. Yakupov (1980) - Shaydullin - a painter, graphic artist, a rare type of artist who manages to organically combine an academic school with folk poetics, creating Thus, a peculiar synthetic picture of the world. The artist’s painting is distinguished by the highest composition and “flaming” coloring; graphic sheets - the finest sense of line combined with imagery. The genres of fine art - landscape, portrait, still life - in all their diversity “live” in the exposition with their own laws, each work of the artist claims the scale and depth of philosophical, philosophical insight into the essence of things.
Shaidullin appears as a subtle deep philosopher thanks not only to the content of his works, but also to his own texts accompanying his works, in which the unusually rich personality of the artist, his spiritual world is revealed with special depth.
The art of Shamil Murtazovich Shaidullin is a unique, one-of-a-kind phenomenon in the fine arts of Tatarstan, which is revealed in all its diversity at the personal exhibition of the master.
