Roman Donskoy was born in 1964 in the city of Pushkino in the family of the artist Donskoy Heinrich Georgievich. In 1984 he graduated from the Abramtsevo School of Industrial Art, in 1995 - Moscow State Art School named after S. G. Stroganova. He lived and worked in Moscow. In 2001 he was awarded the medal of the Russian Orthodox Church of St. Sergius of Radonezh, I degree, for the restoration of wall oil painting in the Pokrovsky convent at the Pokrovskaya outpost in Moscow. Since 2003 - a member of the Moscow Union of Artists.
