According to the stories of his colleagues and students, the work of Roman was influenced by such artists as Matisse, Van Gogh, Picasso, Gauguin and Chagall. The exhibition will present over 50 paintings to the audience. “I want to learn how to control the elements. Painting is the other world. "- wrote Roman in his diaries. The artist left behind a great legacy: more than a thousand paintings and graphic works. Part of the unique collection, thanks to the sponsorship of the BestHard IT company and the personal contribution of the artist’s daughter, Anna Donskaya, will be shown for the first time this year in Russia and Switzerland.
Roman Donskoy was born in 1964 in the city of Pushkino in the family of the artist Donskoy Heinrich Georgievich. In 1984 he graduated from the Abramtsevo School of Industrial Art, in 1995 - Moscow State Art School named after S. G. Stroganova. He lived and worked in Moscow. In 2001 he was awarded the medal of the Russian Orthodox Church of St. Sergius of Radonezh, I degree, for the restoration of wall oil painting in the Pokrovsky convent at the Pokrovskaya outpost in Moscow. Since 2003 - a member of the Moscow Union of Artists. The last years of his life, Roman Donskoy was actively engaged in painting, traveled to Asian countries, was fond of martial arts, studied Sanskrit and oriental healing practices. The artist died of a heart attack in Moscow in 2013.
