March 15 in the main building of the Irkutsk Regional Art Museum. V.P. Sukachev opens the exhibition "River of Life" dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Valentin Rasputin. The exposition for the anniversary of the outstanding writer was made up of more than 20 paintings and graphic works from the museum’s collection - both directly related to the personality and works of Valentin Grigoryevich Rasputin, and consonant with his work in thematic and spiritual plans.
The central place at the exhibition is devoted to the portraits of the writer, created by the People’s Artist of the Russian Federation A. I. Alekseev and Honored Artist of the Russian Federation A. G. Kostovsky in the early 1980s. Here you can also see another portrait of V. G. Rasputin - the authorship of Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Nikas Safronov, recently donated to the museum by philanthropists.

Of particular interest are illustrations made in various graphic techniques by Anatoly Anosov and Vladimir Ramensky, each of which found its own artistic interpretation of the story by V. G. Rasputin “Live and Remember.” If Anatoly Anosov in his tense, full of movement, engravings recreates a dynamic event series of events, then the etchings of Vladimir Ramensky, who focused on the psychological drama of the heroes of the story, are solved in a lyrical manner.
