Project “Space and time. Different Comparisons” is part of the All-Russian exhibition project “RUSSIA” of the Union of Artists of Russia. The exhibition presents contemporary Russian artists. Diversity, as a key concept of contemporary fine art, was chosen as the idea of this exhibition.
The exhibition presents works of painting and graphics, sculptures and art objects, sketches of theatrical scenery and costumes, book illustrations… The contrast of different and opposite in their approach works shows that the artist in his work is his own legislator.
Diversity as a key concept for contemporary Russian art was chosen as the idea of this project. The exhibition is attended by 18 Moscow artists involved in painting and sculpture, graphics and books, theater and cinema, installation and architecture, modern design and ancient folk crafts… Also, 6 Kolomna artists are invited to participate in the exhibition. The project participants are individuals, stylistically different from each other, but working equally sharply and modernly.
The concept of the exhibition is based on a comparison of artistic genres, subjects and styles of artists belonging to different generations and living in large and small cities of Russia. The exhibition project "Different Comparisons" presents contemporary artists from Moscow and Kolomna. Among the artists are well-known masters and young names. Artists of the older generation represent the work of the turn of the century and have a classical professional school; young artists develop artistic searches and achievements of the art of the last century. "Different comparisons" of creative individuals are the character traits of this exhibition project.
Viewers are invited to find common ground between completely different types of fine art presented at the exhibition. The organizers of the project emphasized the obligation of each participant to perform individually "with his own direction and his own face", mixing artists of all ages and all creative inclinations, so that one could judge what everyone is capable of. Such a comparison gives rise to new images and meanings of culture, multiplying their perception. The best gratitude to the artist will be the recognition of his rights to creative work, to recognition and fame.
