Exhibition "Procopius Ryazantsev. Meeting in a century and a half" Automatic translate

September 26 at 16.00 in the Gallery of Siberian Art (K. Marx St., 23) a traveling exhibition “Procopius Ryazantsev. Meeting after a century and a half ”, dedicated to the first Trans-Baikal artist Prokop Nikolaevich Ryazantsev (1829–1897). The exhibition project of the Nerchinsk Museum of Local Lore for the first time brought together paintings, drawings and photo reproductions of lost paintings by a talented artist of the 19th century.

Nerchinsk artist Prokopiy Ryazantsev was a master of painting, icon painting, painted portraits and landscapes. Of greatest value are his ethnographic works - paintings, sketches, drawings from everyday life drilled in Transbaikalia, which are distinguished by great skill and completeness.

Project “Procopius Ryazantsev. Meeting after a century and a half ”in 2017 became the winner of the“ Museum Troopers ”contest and received a grant from the Vladimir Potanin Charity Fund, thanks to which we managed to collect bit by bit the artist’s creative heritage from the Nerchinsk Museum of Local Lore, the Trans-Baikal Museum of Local Lore, the Amur Regional Museum of Local Lore, and the Museum Anthropology and Ethnography named after Peter the Great (Kunstkamera) RAS.

Irkutsk Regional Art Museum named after V.P. Sukacheva also provided for the project the work of Procopius Ryazantsev from his funds. This is a portrait of P.I. Pershina-Karaksarsky, written in 1876.

The exposition includes 18 extant paintings, watercolors and drawings, three photographic reproductions of unsaved works and two paintings, the authorship of which supposedly belongs to Ryazantsev. The exhibition will also feature an art album of the same name with the exhibition.
