The State Vladimir-Suzdal Museum-Reserve and the Russian Academy of Arts present an exhibition of the People’s Artist of the USSR and the Russian Federation, full member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts, member of the Academy De Boz Ar (France) and the Academy of San Fernando (Spain), Chevalier of the Order of the Legion of Honor of France, Ambassador Goodwill of UNESCO and President of the Russian Academy of Arts Zurab Konstantinovich Tsereteli.
The exposition includes about 40 works of the master - paintings, enamels, sculptures from the author’s collection and the museum’s collection. The basis of Zurab Tsereteli’s art is an interest in Man. For the author, there are no insignificant, uninteresting themes and characters, situations and incidents, he sees character, emotion, special energy impulses, and the magic of an event everywhere. Man, his inner world and complex spiritual life, individuality - these concepts occupy a central place in the work of the master.
Among the subjects of the famous artist’s paintings are holidays and everyday life, landscapes and genre scenes created based on impressions from foreign trips and memories of Georgia, portraits of friends and relatives. The indisputable adornment of the exhibition are numerous still lifes, where you can most often see Tsereteli’s favorite flowers - sunflowers. For the artist, these flowers are not just additions to a portrait or genre composition - through them his philosophy of life and creativity is revealed, color, light, goodness, love and abundance triumph here.
