Starting December 22, 2016, the Hazine National Art Gallery will host an exhibition of recently received works. In 2016, a significant event took place - 95 paintings and drawings by Soviet artists were donated to the State Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Tatarstan by the Elena and Gennady Timchenko Charitable Foundation.
The Timchenko family has been involved in charity work for more than twenty-five years. The activities of the Timchenko Foundation are aimed at supporting active longevity, developing sports and culture, and helping families and children.
One of the most interesting is the Chess in Museums program, which the Timchenko Foundation has been implementing together with the Russian Chess Federation since 2012. During this period, such vivid events were held as the 2012 World Championship match at the Tretyakov Gallery, the Alekhine Memorial super tournament in the Louvre (Paris) and the Russian Museum (St. Petersburg), the super championships of Russia in the Rukavishnikovs Estate (Nizhny Novgorod) and in the Novosibirsk State Museum of Local Lore, as well as the All-Russian competitions "Premier League" in the museum complex "Fort No. 5" (Kaliningrad).
In November-December 2014, the Khazine National Art Gallery of the Pushkin Museum in the Kazan Kremlin hosted the finals of the Russian Championship, which took place in the halls of the permanent exhibition of works by the brilliant Russian-American artist Nikolai Feshin. As part of the event, students of the Kazan Art College prepared an exhibition of their works on the topic of chess, and during the super final they made portrait sketches of the tournament players. Thus, the cooperation between the Timchenko Foundation and the State Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Tatarstan has a history.
The collection of Soviet art that the foundation donated to the museum this year is unique. Most of the works belong to the brush of famous masters, such as Konstantin Zefirov, Helium Korzhev, Victor Popkov, Peter Ossovsky, Tatyana Nazarenko, Natalya Nesterova, Victor Perelman, Vladimir Stozharov. The works reflect the various periods of development of the fine art of our country from the 1930s to the end of the 20th century in various genres: portrait, genre painting, landscape, still life. The collection presents both completed paintings and sketches for famous paintings in collections of world art treasures.
These works became a valuable contribution to the collection of Soviet painting of the State Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Tatarstan.
