Victor Panteleevich Psarev was born in 1950 in the city of Leninogorsk. After moving with his parents to Ust-Kamenogorsk, he began to attend classes at the art studio of the Palace of Pioneers. There, his first teacher in drawing and painting was E.N. Godowsky, from whom the future artist learned not only the basics of art, but also a special, inquisitive outlook on life. After graduating from an art school in Alma-Ata and serving in the army, in 1974 the aspiring painter entered the Moscow Art Institute named after V.I.Surikov, where he studied at the workshop of the People’s Artist of the USSR, Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts Tair Salakhov. Under the leadership of Salakhov, the young master held his first exhibition at the Russian Academy of Arts. In total, Psarev had more than four hundred of them.

V.P. Psarev has a wide creative range. The artist is interested in historical and military events, stories about the life and work of his contemporaries, as well as moral, religious, philosophical and biblical themes.
