March 1, 2016 in the halls of the Russian Academy of Arts at the address: st. Prechistenka, 21 opens an exhibition of works by Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Arts Leyla Khasyanova.
The composition of the exposition includes over 30 paintings created in the 1980s - 2000s.
Leyla Khasyanova successfully works in various genres of fine art, but by her nature she is, above all, a portrait painter. People, their faces, the uniqueness of their appearance have attracted the attention of the artist since her student years. In her psychological portraits, she is able, in a moment stopped on the canvas, to convey the essence of man, his character, soul.
L.S. Khasyanova in 1987 graduated from Moscow State Art Institute named after V.I. Surikov (workshop portrait of Professor I.S. Glazunov). For several years she taught at the Moscow Polytechnic Institute. S. G. Stroganova, from 1992 to 2013 - at the Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture Ilya Glazunov, where she was the head of the portrait workshop, the head of the department of academic and anatomical drawing, the dean of the faculty of painting, the vice-rector for scientific work. Candidate of historical sciences, professor. Participant of 46 art exhibitions, including 15 personal ones.
Khasyanova created about 350 works, of which the most significant are a series of portraits of “Women of Russia”, portraits of BAM builders, metallurgists, meteorologists, test pilots, and cycles dedicated to Japan, India, and Arab countries.

At the exhibition, the artist mainly addresses her favorite topics - women and flowers.
Female images created by L. Khasyanova are a true variety of unique characters and destinies. They are very different, her heroines, but the artist’s interest in “colorful nature”, expressive and outstanding, is always unchanged. The “chosen” gallery of portraits contains the subtle and mysterious Shahri, the bright, energetic Maria Maksakova as Musetta in the opera Bohemia D. Puccini, the gentle and feminine Mrs. Hoxha, the Panamanian girl Sunilda, whose exotic beauty captivates her eyes.
Often, the background on which her models are depicted adds spatial complexity to the composition, creates additional possibilities for color arrangement, and gives a certain mystery to the images.
The jewelry thoroughness of the letter, color harmony is distinguished by the still lifes of Khasyanova from the Ikebana series - exquisite bouquets depicted on a neutral background. In them - fragility and festivity, grace and decorative rhythm.
According to art critic Nina Getashvili, “Leyla Samiulovna Khasyanova somehow immediately became a mature artist. She got the happy destiny of combining creativity and the ability to realize it. "
The exhibition runs until March 20, 2016.
