Maria Dreznina was born in Moscow in a family of hereditary creative intelligentsia. She studied at the Moscow secondary art school at the Institute named after V.I. Surikov, then at the V.I. Acquaintance with the Crimea took place thanks to the participation in the creative group of artists who worked in the House of K. Korovin in Gurzuf. The artist expressed a special atmosphere of creative unity, a fertile southern climate, one of the most beautiful landscapes in the world with a few words: “The sun, the sea, painting - Paradise”. Many years of cooperation with the Artek pioneer camp strengthened the creative union of Dreznin-Gurzuf.

The collapse of the Soviet Union seriously affected the fate of professional artists. Crimean houses of creativity turned out to be inaccessible, Artek changed, but Maria Dreznina always remained faithful to Crimea.

Every year in April, she returns to Gurzuf on a date with cypresses and almonds, peach and plum trees. She watches the revival of nature, with great love trying to capture the "elusive". Maria Dreznina works in the open air in any weather, day or even night.

A special place at the exhibition is occupied by the night landscapes of Maria Dreznina, among which stand out “Flowering tree on Easter night” and “Mystical cypress”. These works are filled with a special, almost religious worship of beauty and the mystery of the universe, eternal renewal and the cycle of life.

Cypresses on the canvases of Maria Drezniny are like a rod connecting heaven and earth. They are especially good in comparison with the raging flowering trees. Free, expressive lines of branches of fruit trees, tending to the horizontal, are opposed to the vertical of cypress trees. The exhibition will feature one of the most beautiful landscapes with a similar motif.

Here are the words of the artist herself: “Recently, a flowering tree has become the object of study and worship - a symbol of tenderness, renewal, vitality. In April in Crimea, you can see how amid very restrained gray and violet tones, almonds, cherry plum, apricot, peaches, pears begin to blossom and blossom. The energy of yellow, white, pink color comes out and begins a rapid movement in the surrounding space. "

Flowering is fleeting and requires great concentration and speed from the artist. Maria Dreznina carefully selects “her motive”, traveling with a notebook and pencil. Then, with all the necessary equipment, he goes out to write in the open air. He returns to his favorite motifs several times, portraying them under different lighting and the state of nature. This explains the verified composition and rich color of the paintings by Dreznina. The artist conveys the subtlest nuances of color.
