This is difficult to achieve when the artists show the sophisticated audience - and the gallery A3 is mainly visited by experts (this is the reputation of the main municipal hall of Moscow and its director Vitaly Kopachev), a conceptual exhibition on such important philosophical problems as the universe and the place of man in it, his most intimate and human attribute is the Soul. It is wrong to think that this exposition took place because Tatyana Kuzmina-Chugunova and Dmitry Plotkin act as a couple - absolutely not! Here are two completely autonomous artists, with different schools, artistic languages and attitudes towards contemporary art. The common thing that unites them is, oddly and not corny, is indifference, love for humanity as a whole and for each of its representatives. It was on this unity that Art-TandiM was born - a group of artists who united only for the period of realization of consonant ideas. Awakening Tao is the first such project. It consists of two cycles - “Awakening” by Tatyana Kuzmina-Chugunova and “From Tao to Tao” by Dmitry Plotkin. In the first, allegorical, symbolic language shows the transformation of the Soul from "birth" to "maturity". The main idea of this cycle is that "the soul must work day and night, and day and night…" And get the right to be proud of long-standing divine arbitrariness. For a modern esthete, a fan of contemporary or avant-garde, the topic is boring, but for the "open" awakened person the only important thing. And interestingly, this topic is solved in a modern language, adequate to the cultural context of the 21st century. With the cycle “From Tao to Tao” the situation is even sadder - there is a didactic “hitting” and a form of presentation, which tends to the language of the art of “Warning”. But all this is only at first glance… In fact, an attentive viewer will see here a deep and absolute traditional attitude to the idea of Birth and Death, to the manifestation of the creative principle as the Opportunity to be or not to be something, and Humanity appears only as a fragment of the universe, an important to the author only because he, unfortunately, is a man… The Tao for Dmitry Plotkin is absolute matter, which is in perfect harmony. It is her life-giving energy that creates a kind of primordial chaos, from which the world is gradually built. Thus, from picture to picture, the stages of its existence are revealed until the moment of imminent death and the new reign of Tao. The main idea of the project is the responsibility of Mankind for the future before itself and before Nature that gave birth to it… The project shows the "history" of man’s creation, his "conditionally" best and worst sides and the possible decline of his civilization. The project uses the idea of virtual "puzzles" of history, each of which is responsible for its important strategic side of the existence of the world. And as a result of their merger, an irrevocable dissolution of one (external) level in the other that generated it… So in the "beginning" Chaos gives rise to Nature, and at the "end" it dissolves in it…
But in general, the viewer at the Awakening of Tao exhibition will be able to look at himself self-consciously and impartially.
The exposition will be accompanied by a “technically” sophisticated performance, which once again draws attention to the exaggerated “value” of civilization and clearly shows that Culture, the main achievement of Mankind, is not able to deal with miscalculations of its activities.
Tatyana Kuzmina-Chugunova is an unsurpassed master of the classical, academic school, taking the origins from the technique of “old masters”, now lost in many ways. At the same time, she is an ultra-modern person, and therefore in her "copyright" works there is often a psychologism and a sense of time! The master receives confirmation of his status at many exhibition venues in Russia and abroad, as well as at competitions. So at the “Week of Contemporary Art in Italy” in Rome in July 2015 - 1, 2, 3 places in the nomination “Genre” (classic), at the Russian Art Week 2015, 1 place in the nomination “portrait” and “landscape” ".
Dmitry Plotkin is a vivid representative of post-modernism, in his works subtly combining the subtle psychology of images with a game (recall G. Hesse), in which the history of art and human history are equally represented. The artworks participate in large art festivals (merge art fire in Washington in October 2014) and are sold in German galleries (Il Quadro, KunstHalle…)
