April 5 at the Gilyarovsky Center, a branch of the Museum of Moscow, will open the exhibition "Prigov. Moskvadva ”, dedicated to the relationship of the poet and artist Dmitry Alexandrovich Prigov with the city.
Moscow in the images of the poet lives as a person and as an epic, collecting time and space. Making regular walks in Moscow, Dmitry Prigov simultaneously traveled across the world-wide cultural text.
The exhibition is built around two films donated to the museum’s collection - in the Don Juan Don Juan List (authors D. Prigov, I. Yusupova, A. Dolgin, 2005), the artist invites famous Moscow monuments to dinner, and Dmitry Prigov. Moskvadva ”(author Maxim Gureev, 2007), the poet, as a guide, conducts a tour of Moscow, telling about himself and places that are important to him, and in the end, putting on angel wings, he makes a symbolic climb to the roof of the House on the embankment, from where a view of the Kremlin opens.
The famous poems printed on transparent film reveal the figurative topography of the city, literally rhyming with the geometry of the typical buildings of Belyaevo, the region where the poet lived for many years. Prigov is experiencing textual conditions as creative routes, where unexpectedly on the sidelines of attention, characters emerged from the text through the streams of newspaper templates. Photos from Prigov’s personal archive, alternating with street photographs of the 1960s and 90s, will expand the context of the exhibition and offer the audience to become a poet’s companion in his traditional walks around the city.
A significant part of the exposition is occupied by the map of "military operations" recreated based on the text "Belyaevo 99", where tribes of residents of Moscow regions act as participants in the battle. And with the help of the artifacts from the archaeological collection of the Museum of Moscow located in the window, the viewer, in the spirit of the mystification of D. A. Prigov, will be invited to present the life of the “ancient Belyaevite”.
Luminous lines of verses from the cycle with the symbolic name “Moscow and Muscovites” are projected onto the walls of the hall. The author, in his ironic warning, presents this book as "an attempt to lay methodological foundations for studying the topic of Moscow by poetic means in accordance with the historiosophical concepts of our time." Moscow, in the paradoxical coordinates of Prigov’s poetics, turns into a special point on the planet Earth, appears as a mythological city where times and civilizations mix.
The Ascension installation will remind you of the action scheduled for July 7, 2007, which did not take place because of the poet’s death: the members of the War group were supposed to lift Prigov, who was sitting in the MSU dormitory stairs, to the 22nd floor, while the poet would read verses at that time own soundtrack, carried by the speakers along the flights of stairs.
Visitors to the exhibition will be able to get “Appeals to Citizens” - leaflets with paradoxical appeals and aphoristic statements that Prigov put up on the streets in 1986–87.

An important role in the work of D. A. Prigov was an attempt to comprehend the new, modernist architecture of Moscow. Serious and not very anthropological observations - at a meeting.

The sixties and seventies is the last period when the Soviet Union still had something to say to the world and its own citizens. The mosaics reflected the themes of space exploration, the heroism of builders, science fiction. We will talk about the noticeable legacy of modernism within the MKAD, which so far most of our fellow citizens do not accept or do not want to accept.
Also in April, in memory of the famous excursion of Dmitry Prigov, an excursion will be held in the Belyaevo region from the local historian Roman Bednov.
