On February 5, the Nagornaya gallery of the Moscow Exhibition Halls exhibition opens an exhibition of the Okoyem art and craft workshop with the support of the Equal Opportunities public organization, which includes the total installation of Sand and the work of artist Elena Drozdova.
A new project of participants in art and craft workshops, people with special needs in mental development and psychophysical disabilities, was born from a photograph of sand under a microscope, when suddenly an inspiration came from unexpected beauty.
The invisible world of everyday magic cannot be seen without special equipment. But the artists, together with the master, imagined what grains of sand can be, and offer to find inside themselves a personal, unique grain of sand, a tiny piece of glass. The result of this was the installation of "Sand".
The exhibition will also feature original paintings from various materials by Elena Drozdova and the installation "Eternity in the pocket of a coat. Audience - children from 8 years old and adults." This is a series of 7 objects arranged in a circle and similar graphic works accompanied by audio materials. On the floor, in the center of the circle, a dot is drawn, symbolizing eternity. Becoming on it, the viewer, as it were, becomes an eternity or, like the author, can find it in the pocket of his coat.
“We, like mollusks, can grow pearls within ourselves. From such personal grains of sand, corals, pearls, the visible world appeared - the space of sand, the installation. ”
“The project“ Eternity in the coat pocket ”was born a year ago. On the way home, I found eternity in the pocket of my old summer coat. I often thought about an accidental find. I thought about what would happen to eternity if it were me. I thought of her as a girl who is in love, sick, watches a movie, writes a letter, but eternity knows that she is eternity, that she is forever alone, that she is a point without a bottom in the pocket of my old summer coat… ”)Elena Drozdova).
The curator of the project is Anastasia Polumordvinova.
