“Portrait of happy people” opens in the HERE on Taganka gallery, the second of twelve exhibitions planned by the art director of the gallery Andrei Bartenev in 2016, under the general name Year of Happiness.
“Portrait of happy people” is a group exposition consisting of more than fifty works by different artists. According to Bartenev, the whole exhibition will become one large installation, one large portrait, made up of many single works.
“Portrait of happy people” turned out to be multifaceted. One part of it is a three-meter portrait of Andrei Bartenev by Zurab Konstantinovich Tsereteli, the other is three paintings by theatrical artist Katya Shcheglova, painted in a very bright and always recognizable manner. Nearby are the works of Yulia Nechaeva, Yandex product director, painting acrylic on emoji canvases (a graphic language where combinations of pictures are used instead of words) - a set of several emoji can be a very accurate portrait of a person. Plus the diptych of 9-year-old artist Sasha Dobrinsky, as well as classical painting and photography, ceramics, collages, costumes, objects, metal sculptures. The portraits include artists, Goths, top models, members of the royal family, young designers, Buddha, rural residents of unknown villages. The combination of the works of mature artists and novice authors - works very different in technique and style - reveals the idea of Andrei Bartenev, the foundation of the exhibition project: “Happiness is diversity, and a happy person is the one who is able to accommodate this diversity in himself, to accept it and enjoy it without giving up anything. ”
Especially for the exhibition "Portrait of Happy People", the famous sculptor Ernst Unknown painted a poetic portrait:
“The portrait weighs and there is no word,
How wonderful is the portrait.
Which portrait?
Her portrait.
I am not there -
Here is my portrait. ”
