The exhibition “Beyond the Moon” will be held as part of the V Moscow Festival of Creativity for People with Mental Disabilities “Ariadne’s Thread”, organized by the Regional Public Organization “Psychiatrists Club” with the support of the Presidential Grants Fund, with the assistance of the Moscow City Duma, the Department of Health, the Department of Labor and social protection of the population, Department of Culture of the Government of Moscow.

The large-scale program of the Festival is aimed at creating an environment of rehabilitation by means of art in order to socialize and adapt people with special needs of mental development. Participants from various regions of Russia, the CIS countries, Europe and Latin America will present their works at numerous cultural venues in Moscow (State Tretyakov Gallery, State Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts, Belyaevo Gallery, Zil Cultural Center, gallery “Art-naive”, Cinema Foundation, etc.), as well as in psychiatric and neuropsychiatric institutions of the capital. The works of the Festival participants will be presented in seven categories: theater, literature, photography, cinema, art, music, media project.

The exposition of the exhibition “On the Other Side of the Moon” in the Belyaevo Gallery includes works by festival participants from Moscow, Moscow Region, St. Petersburg, Kemerovo, Cherepovets, Khabarovsk, Rostov-on-Don, Krasnodar, Kirov, Minsk, performed in different techniques and genres.

Unprofessional artists blur the boundaries between fantasy and reality, violate proportions, do not follow the laws of perspective. A cow can be yellow and similar to the Moon, the faces and figures of people are surreal, landscapes and cosmic still lifes. Through the prism of a naive look, the whole world opens up, still unknown, not understood by reason, but already intuitively caught by the participants of the Festival.

Event Program:

November 20, 11:00 - 12:00: opening of the exhibition “On the Other Side of the Moon”, presentation of the works of the participants of the Festival, concert program.

November 22, 15:00 - 17:00: master class in music therapy. Presenter: Vita Krumnia - art therapist, master of pedagogy, master of healthcare in Latvia. By prior registration.

November 23, 11:30 - 12:30: musical and poetic program.
