Today in the Irkutsk Art Museum. V.P. Sukachev stores about five thousand works of decorative art, made at the Khaitinsky Porcelain Factory in the 19th – 20th centuries. The richness and variety of the collection allows you to see the whole history of the development of the famous enterprise, founded in 1869 by the merchants Perevalov. Thanks to the excellent qualities of the raw materials, the finished products turned out to be unusually white and clean, the factory quickly became famous throughout the country, receiving high awards, commendation sheets and medals.
In 1920, the enterprise was nationalized, during the Great Patriotic War the equipment of the Leningrad abrasive plant Ilyich was evacuated to the territory of the Siberian plant, and since 1954, the Khaitinsky Porcelain Factory became the largest enterprise in the Soviet Union. An art experimental laboratory was organized at the plant with the formation of a professional team of authors. The ermine became the emblem of the enterprise.
The new exhibition in a bright and visible form will tell about the high achievements in the field of porcelain production by leading artists of the largest Siberian factory.
The exhibition “Song of Porcelain Siberia. 150 years of the Khaitinsky Porcelain Factory ”will open on September 25 at 16.00 in the Gallery of Siberian Art of the Irkutsk Art Museum (23 Karl Marx St.) and will be open until November 10. Entrance to the opening is free.
