January 24 at 17:00 in the Perm Gallery opens an exhibition of Perm artists "Brothers in different ways." The exhibition presents the work of 14 artists - former graduates of Perm art universities.
Despite the difference in artistic techniques, 14 authors are united by a common territory, which allows the inner worlds of artists to intersect, find harmony with their thoughts and feel kinship.
Nature - man - time - art - the central themes of the exhibition, which combine different, but in a kindred close masters. Artists create their own paintings, keeping traditions realistic, but remaining open to the modern challenges of the time.
In modern culture, painting is seen as a "departing nature", giving way to installations, video, and performances. And the fact that a whole group of Perm artists creates paintings that gain recognition in Perm and beyond, speaks volumes.
The exhibition will feature the works of Alexander Grekov, Nikolai Beresnev, Anna Demidova, Maxim Kayetkin, Maria Kolyvalova, Artem Kutergin, Naimushina Evgenia, Tatyana Necheuhina, Konstantin Nikolaev, Maxim Nurulin, Elena Postnova, Julia Permyakova, Konstantin Suslov, Maxim Titov.
The exhibition "Brothers in different ways" opens the anniversary year for the gallery. In November, Perm Gallery marks 95 years. During this time, the gallery has become one of the largest museums in Russia and the "visiting card of the region." Despite the variety of collections, one of the main places here is the fine art of the Urals and Prikamye, placed in the context of world cultures.
The support of the Ural artists and the acquaintance of the audience with their works has always been one of the central missions of the Perm Gallery, and therefore the gallery decided to start the anniversary year with a monographic display of the works of outstanding contemporary artists of Perm, whose work is presented in the exhibition as a peculiar phenomenon of the Prikamye modern culture.
The exhibition will run from January 25 to February 19, 2017.
Entrance to the opening of the exhibition is free.
