Perfect Vision is a project of artists Kirill Zhilkin, Eva Arakcheeva and designer Anton Kostetskiy, dedicated to loneliness, faith and total fatigue from information.
The exhibition is a total installation, in the center of which there is a place where, according to the artists’ plan, the gallery visitor will be able to take a break from the frantic rhythm of the big city and, if desired, meditate. The exhibition visualizes the feelings and emotions that any modern person experiences, reading news on social networks on a smartphone screen, being in correspondence with several people at the same time, always late everywhere and not doing anything.
There is so much information that it is impossible to follow it. Communication with friends comes down to exchanging emojis in instant messengers. There is no power and time for ordinary human communication. But somewhere inside ourselves there is a treasured door (it is also the “door of perception”, if according to Aldous Huxley), by entering which you can learn to see the world as it really is. The need for faith, according to the authors of the project, is the need for concentration. Making the mind stop, stop grinding terabytes of messages - this is possible only in a meditative state, which is achieved in various ways, including by contemplating works of art.
“The idea of the exhibition was born in the face of a personal desire to know things with the mind, ignoring feelings and everything irrational in human nature. In my case, this happened under the influence of the read works of Tolstoy, Spinoza, Dokkins. Being naturally idealistic, intuitive, I fell under the influence of their ideas, and this even affected the mental state of health. To somehow get out of all this, I began to look around, sketch images, create schemes. And as a result of intense internal work, I got two posters with colored dots expressing the idea that there is no reason to rest against one way of perceiving the world, it is impossible to subordinate everything only to reason, and the art of living is to skillfully use two antagonistic arsenals of tools. This is called perfect vision. ”Anton Kostetskiy, designer
