On February 15, in the main exposition of the Kaluga Museum of Fine Arts, within the framework of the Art Chronograph 2022 project, the audience will be presented with an exhibition of one painting by Vitold Byalynitsky-Biruli "Clear Days of Spring".
Belarusian painter, People’s Artist of the RSFSR and Belarus, full member of the Academy of Arts Vitold Byalynitsky-Birulya was born on January 31, 1872 in the village of Krynki, Mogilev province. He received his artistic education at the Drawing School of Nikolai Murashko in Kiev, then at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture under Vasily Polenov, Illarion Pryanishnikov. Throughout his career, V. Byalynitsky-Birulya continued the tradition of the Russian landscape of the 19th century, founded by Alexei Savrasov, Isaac Levitan, Ivan Shishkin.
The work "Clear Days of Spring" was written by the artist in the thirties of the XX century. In 1940, the canvas entered the collection of the Kaluga Art Museum.
The harmony and sophistication of the color solutions of the landscape work "Clear Days of Spring" reflect the author’s lyrical thoughts about the eternity of nature. The soft, almost "pastel" palette, not typical of other representatives of the "Wanderers", in his work is successfully combined with a compositional solution. A completely discreet portrait of nature, in its variability and transience of the seasons, was transformed under the painter’s brush and received a special sound.
Vitold Byalynitsky-Birulya lived a long life, leaving a colossal creative heritage. Artistic works of the master are kept in the State Russian Museum, the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Kaluga Museum of Fine Arts, and private collections.
In memory of a talented fellow countryman in his homeland in Belarus, a museum was created, which bears the name of the master of the lyrical landscape - the name of Vitold Byalynitsky-Biruli.
