June 27 at 16.00 in the main building of the Irkutsk Art Museum. V.P. Sukachev (st. Lenin, 5) will open the exhibition "One workshop - two fates." For the first time, the exposition will fully present the work of two outstanding Irkutsk artists: Ivan Yushkov (1914–1987) and Anna Yushkova (1928–2003), who made a significant contribution to the development of Siberian art.
The exhibition is dedicated to the 105th anniversary of the birth of Ivan Yushkov and the 91st anniversary of the birth of Anna Yushkova in the framework of the museum project “To Remember”. Paintings will be presented from the collection of the Irkutsk Art Museum, the collection of Victor Bronstein, the collection of Lina Yermontovich, the art gallery of the Angarsk Electrolysis Chemical Combine, the Neurological Department of the Faculty Clinics of IGMU. In total, the exhibition will feature more than 70 works.
Ivan Efimovich Yushkov (1914-1987) was called the master of the epic landscape. Among the works of other landscape painters, his works are recognized immediately. In them, the artist managed to create a sense of immense space, to convey the grandiose whole image of the Baikal region.
Anna Gerasimovna Yushkova (1928–2003) was recognized as a portrait painter. Her models were people of different professions and social status. The artist was interested in the person’s personal qualities, his social significance, which allowed the author to reveal the personality and character of the portrait, to tell the story of his life. Through portraits of her contemporaries, Anna Yushkova tried to show the image of her time.
Within the framework of the exhibition, the Irkutsk Art Museum will publish a catalog album dedicated to the work of artists.
The exhibition will open on June 27 at 16.00 in the main building of the Irkutsk Art Museum (Lenin St., 5) and will run until August 4. Entrance to the opening is free.
