This exhibition introduces the Kaluga audience to the work of the famous St. Petersburg painter, graphic artist, master of decorative art of the Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Ivan Tarasyuk.
Ivan Ivanovich Tarasyuk was born in 1957 in Sverdlovsk (now Yekaterinburg), graduated from the art school there, then studied at the graphic faculty of the Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after I.E. Repin, who graduated in 1988. Since 1981, takes part in art exhibitions. To date, he has held more than 50 personal exhibitions - not only in different cities of Russia, but also in Belgium, Germany, Denmark, China, France, Switzerland. Since 1990, he is a member of the Union of Artists of Russia, a member of the St. Petersburg Union of Artists, Associate Academician of the International Academy of Fine Arts "Greece - Marino" (Italy). In 2007 he was awarded the international Van Dyck Prize (Italy) for his achievements in creativity. In 2011, he took part in the interior decoration of the residence of the President of the Russian Federation in the city of Kaliningrad.
Ivan Tarasyuk is an artist of versatile creative range, he works not only in different genres, but also in different types of art: in painting, graphics, sculpture and creates works of decorative and applied art. The artist’s interest in human communication, circus, theater, music, jazz is reflected in his works. Ivan Tarasyuk is one of the few artists who turns to the embodiment of the theme of music in the visual arts. He visualizes the sound, transmitting it through the plastic movement, so he has many works depicting musicians. His characters are always given in motion, even if they are calm, then the internal movement - their feelings, thoughts are reflected on their faces. The artist subtly feels the vital impulse, and fills them with his heroes. The theme of the movement, embodied in painting, graphics, sculpture, ceramics, defined the name of the exhibition - "Ode to the movement."
The paintings and graphic works presented at the exhibition are distinguished by a complex composition, geometric pattern, harmonious color scheme. Miniatures executed on porcelain by hand are skillfully inscribed in the shape of the subject, and the painting itself is distinguished by its mastery of execution. The sculpture, as his porcelain works are plastically expressive, their images are filled with subtle humor.
In the works of Ivan Tarasyuk, the traditions of the Leningrad school of graphics, folk art, burlesque theater, elements of avant-garde and postmodernism merged organically. The artist’s personal style is individual and recognizable at first sight. His works are attracted by the eccentricity of vision, the fantasy of the embodiment of everyday plots. His creations are filled with love of life and a positive charge, their images are unpredictable, and sometimes paradoxical. In the works of Ivan Tarasyuk, performed in any material and genre, a new original outlook on life is embodied.
For visitors, the exhibition will run from December 11, 2015 to February 21, 2016.
