The New U-Turn exhibition is an attempt to study the modern Russian photobook landscape and its heterogeneous structure. From simple and small photozines to experimental and conceptual statements about the nature of photography and time, from short-run projects released independently, to large publishing solutions, from prototypes of books with sticking out threads to elegant art objects, from direct chronicles of public events to personal diaries with a non-linear narrative - the exposition at the Lumiere Brothers Center for Photography is conceived both as a field overview, and at the same time as a search for methods of displaying a photo book to a wide audience.
Curator - Anastasia Bogomolova.
