The exhibition "New Wanderers" is dedicated to the centenary of the Kaluga Museum of Fine Arts and is part of the International Project "The Palette of Reality - The Russian World". The project is carried out by the Creative Association “New Wanderers” in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Russian Academy of Arts and the Union of Artists of Russia. The author of the project is the general director of the association, an honorary member of the Union of Artists of Russia, corresponding member of the International Academy of Culture and Art Oleg Maksimenko, artistic director - People’s Artist of the Russian Federation, academician of the Russian Academy of Arts, Secretary of the Union of Artists of Russia Gennady Pravotorov. The main goal of the International Project “The Palette of Reality - The Russian World”, launched in 2014, is to preserve the best traditions of the Russian realistic school of fine art and to familiarize Russian and foreign viewers with the works of leading contemporary masters of painting, drawing and sculpture.
The exhibition "New Wanderers" in the Kaluga Museum of Fine Arts is attended by leading masters of contemporary Russian realistic art - painting, drawing and sculpture. The exposition contains the works of several domestic schools: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Crimean, Smolensk and Oryol. The most fully represented are the works of Moscow authors. Viewers can get acquainted with the works of the People’s Artist of the USSR, Academician of the Academy of Arts of the USSR Geli Mikhailovich Korzhev and his wife Kira Vladimirovna Korzheva - these paintings were kindly provided by their daughter, artist Anastasia Korzheva.
The exhibition is also attended by folk artists of the Russian Federation and academics of the Russian Academy of Arts Nikolai Solomin, Nikolai Borovskoy, Valery Polotnov, Alexey Sukhovetsky, Vyacheslav Stekolshchikov, Dmitry Belyukin, Alexander Tsigal, vice president of the Russian Academy of Arts, people’s artist of the Russian Federation, rector of Moscow State Art Institute named after V.I. Surikova Anatoly Lyubavin. The paintings of honored academicians of the Russian Academy of Arts Nikolay Krutov and Natalia Opiok, honored artists of Russia, corresponding members of the Russian Academy of Arts Mlada Finogenova, Anton Stekolshchikov, Dmitry Shmarin, honored artist of Ukraine Yevgeny Smirnov and other remarkable painters, sculptors and graphic artists are presented.
In 2009-2017, the Creative Association held over 60 Russian and international exhibitions, organized more than 40 open-air events in various countries of the world. Over the past eight years, over 1000 artists from Russia, the CIS countries and far abroad have taken part in various events organized by the association.
The exhibition will occupy both floors of the Information and Educational and Exhibition Center of the KIIA and will last until April 22.
