September 15, 2015 at 16.00 in the exhibition halls of the Russian Academy of Arts (Prechistenka, 21) will open the exhibition of works of the Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, a member of the Russian Academy of Arts Nadezhda Tsikulina “Living Forms”.
Famous Tver painter, participant of numerous Russian and foreign exhibitions, Nadezhda Tsikulina presents more than 30 paintings, created over the past decade, made in the original author’s style. She characterizes her work as “philosophical symbolism”. “Saved in Strength”, “Return”, “Artist and Muse”, triptych “Time”, triptych “Creativity”, “Bright Face” - the themes of the works outline a range of universal and artistic problems that concern the author.
N. Tsikulina belongs to the masters, whose creative path is filled with spiritual quests, numerous experiments in the field of form. “For me, complex forms have always been interesting, executed in a graphic manner, but in the technique of oil painting,” the author notes. Gradually, through reflection, analysis of everything seen, read, experienced, interesting ideas began to appear, revealing to me my own path in art. When drawing, I became interested in the image of crumpled paper. I wanted to depict the paper as an image, breathing life into it through the shape of a face or figure. The next step was the creation of paper, bags or foil sculptural works. I want to extend the life of fragile, short-lived material in painting. In my works, it is interesting for me to combine the sculptural volume, the graphic rhythm of tonal spots, picturesque halftones. I subordinate all external formal developments to the main thing - the expression of the Spirit. "The inner world and inner beauty are not visible to the eye, but visible and palpable by the soul - without them the picture is empty."
Tsikulina Nadezhda Leonidovna was born in Sosnogorsk, Komi Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic in 1950. In 1968 she graduated from the Moscow Art School, in 1976 - MGHI im. V. Surikova, faculty of painting. Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. In 2008, her creative activity was awarded the diploma of the Russian Academy of Arts. In 2011, she was elected a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Arts, in 2014 she was awarded the silver medal of the Union of Artists of Russia. Nadezhda Tsikulina is the author of a series of books devoted to the problems of the philosophy of creativity: Spiritualism in Painting, Spirit of the Times and Art, Conscious and Unconscious in Painting.
