April 22 at 18.00 in the halls of the MVK PAX Art Gallery (Prechistenka, 19) opens an exhibition of Moscow theater artists RESULTS OF SEASON No. 52.
Held for the first time in 1964 in the walls of the House of Actor, which on Tverskaya, having crossed the half-century border, wandered (after the fire of the House of 1990) in the exhibition and museum halls of Moscow, SEASON RESULTS traditionally, for the 52nd time, tell about the past theatrical season in works of Moscow scenographers. The viability of the RESULTS is obvious. After all, while the theater is alive, the exhibition will also be alive, telling about the premieres of the season with the work of stage designers and costume designers. And it doesn’t matter at all what regalia its participants have and what their professional status is. For masterpieces - to another museum, although they happen here too. Democracy of the exhibition allows (and insists!): If you are an artist, and you have something to report on for the past theater season - whether it be the sensational Moscow premiere or staging in the Russian outback, near and even far abroad - we are asking for mercy! Your way out! The polyphony of various age categories, art preferences, scenographic schools, etc. allows the TOTALS to reflect the real, authentic history of today’s theater with all its ups, innovations, and sometimes, and… falls. RESULTS - a true cut of the theatrical season - without disguise and embellishment. What season - such is the exhibition.
The exhibition will feature works by almost 80 Moscow authors. Such as: Vladimir Arefiev (Medea, MAMT named after Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko), Sergey Barkhin (Bald Boy, Youth Theater), Stanislav Benediktov (Carmen, Bolshoi Theater), Larisa Lomakina (Boris Godunov), Lenkom), Yuri Harikov (“The Stable Principle”, Stanislavsky Electrotheatre), Nikolai Simonov (“Viy”, Theater of P. O. Tabakova), Natalya Voinova (“The Little Devil”, Pokrovsky Chamber Music Theater), Alexey Kondratiev (Walpurgis Night, Lenkom), Maksim Obrezkov (Duck Hunt, Et Cetera Theater), Victor Nikonenko (The Scarlet Flower, GAZTK named after Ob Aztsova), Stepan Lukyanov (“Sverliytsi”, Stanislavsky Electrotheatre), Polina Bakhtina (“Svan”, Center named after Vs. Meyerhold), Galina Solodovnikova (“Tales of Hoffmann”, Perm Opera and Ballet Theater), Nana Abdrashitova (“The Decameron”, Sovremennik Theater), Ekaterina Galaktionova (Vassa, Theater on M. Bronnaya), Ethel Ioshpa (Salome, Novaya Opera Theater), etc.
The guest of the exhibition is Vladimir Anshon, an artist from Estonia, Andris Freiberg’s student and winner of many professional awards. He will present his project for the play “The Seagull”, which took place in the museum-reserve of A. Chekhov “Melikhovo”.
Moscow scenographic saga - RESULTS OF SEASONS - continues its chronicle. There are many pages ahead that are yet to be filled.
