The main prize and the title of “Photographer of the Year” was given to Tom Jacobi, a 60-year-old German photographer who has been taking portraits of politicians for Stern and The New Yorker magazines all his life, but has made a lot of impressive nature photo shoots in recent years. His latest series, Gray Matters, has forty unique shots taken on six continents. Winner in the "Discovery of the Year" nomination - Dayana Montesano. The winner in the Moving Images category is Geoff Tompkinson.

MIFA is the annual Russian photo contest for professional and non-professional photographers and student photographers from around the world, which is being held for the third time. MIFA is an ambitious project that aims to develop international photography in Russia and the inclusion of Russian photographers in the global context of contemporary art.
