On May 23, in the Nagornaya gallery of the Exhibition Halls of Moscow Association, a 56-parallel round-the-world exhibition is opened using geographical maps, where 8 countries are represented in recognizable images.
The objective of the project is to explore the possibilities of paper material as a media of contemporary art, as well as to arouse interest in the study of various cultures.
The entire exhibition space will be a trip around the world in countries in which the viewer may not have been. But fantasies about them, spontaneous images from dreams, formed by books, photographs, stories, create a bizarre image of these countries. These images become the main personal travel around the world.
At the exhibition, the viewer will be able to understand whether the sleeve length of the girls’ dress depends on the length of the rivers in these parts, and whether the height of the mountains is connected with the high waist of the output dress.
The project is based on the book by Nikolai Roginsky "From Moscow to Moscow along the 56th parallel, or a journey that I could make." A special place in the exhibition will take graphic fantasies of Ivan Balashov.
Project participants - Nina Ostrun, Alexey Lev, Ulyana Lashchenko, Ivan Balashov.
The curator of the project is Nina Ostrun, curator, author of books about origami, creator of a virtual museum dedicated to this art.
