The lyrical experience of nature was combined with the artist’s love for the architecture of St. Petersburg, finely spelled out on many of his canvases. St. Nicholas Cathedral, Smolny Cathedral, Alexander Nevsky Lavra solemnly froze among the snowy landscape.

Through the still lifes presented at the exhibition, the impressionistic features in the artist’s work are more clearly manifested. The artist’s still lifes are invariably lyrical. Subtlely organized compositions combine different textures and colors. Through the play of light and shadow in the works “Lilac”, “Still Life with a Samovar in the Garden”, “Still Life with Mountain Ash”, the artist filled the paintings with subtle vibrations of air.
