Bratec Lis Gallery invites LaFe, a master of watercolor painting, an artist from Thailand, to the exhibition. On display are LaFe’s works with the image of blooming roses, made in the author’s technique of the artist.
Rose is one of the most difficult to image flowers. LaFe writes roses cleanly and easily: these complex designs of the finest petals look as fresh and delicate on his work as fresh flowers. The watercolor technique, which the artist owns, delights and attracts with its simplicity and complexity: not a single extra touch, the boldness of improvisation and the accuracy inherent in oriental masters.
The artist calls his own way of understanding painting “hybrid”, designating it as Hybrid Painting. LaFeh’s style combines the principles of "painting without a sketch," Watercolor without drawing, and "modern non-painting," Modern with Unpaint. To achieve the naturalness of the image of each flower petal, the artist does not use a pencil, working without a sketch. Feelings of lightness and freshness help to achieve a "non-painting", when free of ink areas of paper play in the drawing as important as those impregnated with pigment.
“Watercolor is a very atmospheric painting,” LaFe says. - It seems a little more, and you can breathe in the scent of a rose, depicted in watercolor on paper. That fragrance that I feel when I write it. ”
LaFe (LaFe, or Sattha Homsawat) - artist, watercolorist. Born in Thailand in 1969. Graduate of the Department of Painting and Sculpture Silpakorn University (Thailand). Member of the International Watercolor Society, numerous international group exhibitions, author and host of training workshops.
