Lyudmila Petrovna was born on September 16, 1940 in Transbaikalia, in the Chita region. Her father died during the Great Patriotic War, her mother was left with three children. From school, the girl showed artistic abilities, but the difficult post-war period did not give her the opportunity to get an art education. After graduating from an agricultural school, Lyudmila Petrovna worked as a veterinarian. Later she was a radio operator at the headquarters of the missile forces of the Trans-Baikal Military District. Only in 1975, having moved to Kaluga, she began to work as an artist-designer and, on-the-job, graduated from the Kaluga Regional Cultural and Educational School (faculty of an artist-designer). She began to seriously engage in painting, and since 1985 she has been taking part in city, regional and international exhibitions. Her personal exhibitions were held several times. The works of L.P. Vedyaeva are in private collections in Russia, England, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Ukraine, Finland and museums in Russia.
For her twelfth solo exhibition, the author selected works created in different years. Lyudmila Petrovna is a lyrical artist, works in a realistic manner, the leading place in her work is landscape and still life. Whatever genre she turns to, the main theme of the master’s work is the beauty of the native nature in all its manifestations. In landscapes, she embodies the views of Central Russian nature, landscapes of Kaluga and the Kaluga Territory, Crimea, the Urals, Transbaikalia.
Of all the diversity of the genre of still life, Lyudmila Petrovna prefers floral, as she herself is very fond of flowers, and is engaged in floriculture. Lyudmila Petrovna is a master of flower still life. Love for flowers manifests itself even in the artist’s landscapes: depicting summer nature or the views of the Crimea, she necessarily includes flowering trees, bushes or wildflowers in them.
The joyful, poetic art of Lyudmila Petrovna Vedyaeva will not leave anyone indifferent!
