The exhibition "Kratovo Dachas" is the result of two years of work by the photographer Fyodor Savintsev, who studied Soviet architecture in the famous village of Kratovo and created a series of photographs with a unique author’s approach to photography, where the heroes are the houses, not their owners.
Kratovo is a holiday village in the Moscow region, in which Mikhail Zoshchenko, Vladimir Shainsky, Sergei Prokofiev, Sergei Eisenstein and other representatives of the Soviet intelligentsia once lived. Among them was the grandfather of Fyodor Savintsev - composer Pyotr Savintsev, who was the deputy chairman of the Union of Composers of the USSR Tikhon Khrennikov.
For Fyodor Savintsev, this project is personal: the childhood of the photographer was spent in this village. “For me, this project is not just graceful houses, it is my world, in which I lived and developed,” emphasizes Savintsev. These summer cottages meant nothing to the child - they were just playgrounds, but now I understand how much of a role was played by that atmosphere of carefree childhood, surrounded by beautiful architecture, taken for granted. "
One of the stages of the project fell on a general lockdown, during which Fedor documented the reality of an old-fashioned village, creating a whole trend for the study of dacha culture. Initially, the photographer introduced the audience to the stories of the inhabitants of Kratovo by posting pictures on his personal blog. A strong response from the architectural community made it possible to think about a larger project. The photographs taken are a unique collection, since the destruction of houses occurs almost daily: some are destroyed from time to time, others are demolished by new owners.
The exhibition will feature a symbiosis of photography and installations from furniture and household items saved from loss during the creation of the project.
