They will see graphic and pictorial works of the artist and his followers from the collection of the Vellum gallery, as well as rare documents, photographs and fragments of correspondence with close friends - Anton Chekhov and Fyodor Chaliapin, with whom Korovina shared her love for Crimea. The exhibition will feature audio recordings and a short film about Konstantin Korovin and his influence on Russian art.
“The exhibition is very consonant with the meanings and goals of our festival: the interaction of masters and students, as a result of which creative possibilities are revealed and new talents are born. As in the times of Korovin, Chaliapin, Chekhov, the place of action is the Crimea, which unites talents of the past, present and future, "said the head of the Tavrida art cluster, Sergei Pershin.
The exhibition project will help visitors to plunge into the atmosphere of the Crimean life of famous cultural workers more than 100 years ago. “Life is happiness: friends, Shalyapin with a guitar, pies with vyzhigas at parties, sea spray flying on the roses standing on the window of the Gurzuf dacha, sun-drenched everyday life - these are the days of the creators, looking at the paintings of Korovin and the artists of his circle. The ideal happiness of being, ”said Lyubov Agafonova, the author and co-curator of the project, art director of the Vellum gallery.
