A new and in its own way unique art exhibition opens for visitors in the Grand Titian Hall of the Museum of the Academy of Arts (St. Petersburg): 206 creative works are presented in a single space and surrounded by copies of paintings by the great Titian and Italian masters of the XVI-XVIII centuries. reflections on the basics of life of novice artists of the XXI century. The moral foundations of human activity, the global themes of salvation and love, peace in all stages of the history of fine arts remain in the spotlight. It is all the more interesting to see at the exhibition interpretations of the eternal themes that embodied novice artists of educational institutions of St. Petersburg: students of the Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture and schoolchildren of the Johanson Academic Art Lyceum.
Beginning artists are not indifferent and attentive in the presentation of their heroes: they portray relatives and friends, lead spectators to the streets of the city and represent the homeless, abandoned people and animals, overcome the borders of the country and remind in stories about starving Africa and the children of Syria. Architects propose building rest houses for veterans and rehabilitation centers for seriously ill children and orphans, and building complexes for refugees. The exhibition “The World Will Save Love” is a dialogue between artists and the audience, their desire to overcome his indifference.
The exposition in the Titian Hall of the Academy of Arts is the final event of the Eleventh contest of aspiring artists for the awards of philanthropist Igor Minakov. This year, the Patron’s Prize celebrates ten years from the date of the first creative competition; on the occasion of the anniversary, for the first time, the final exhibition is held in one of the state rooms of the Museum of the Academy of Arts. 206 works of the exhibition compete among themselves in 5 nominations of the competition: “Painting”, “Graphics”, “Sculpture”, “Architecture”, “Young Artist”. The audience organized a voting in the nomination “Public Recognition” in the hall: each visitor will be able to choose the best painting and sculpture, in his opinion. The winners will be announced on April 27th.
The exhibition - contest "The World Will Save Love" is open for visiting from April 18 to 29 in the Titian Hall of the Research Museum at the Russian Academy of Arts (Universitetskaya embankment, d. 17) from 11.00 to 18.00 (seven days a week), admission is free.
