October 25 at 16.00 in the main building of the Irkutsk Art Museum (Lenin St., 5) opens a large-scale exhibition "Komsomol: time, events, people", dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the organization of the Komsomol (All-Union Leninist Communist Youth League). The exposition from the museum’s collection through the best works of Moscow and Irkutsk painters, graphic artists and craftsmen reflects the significant role of the Komsomol organization in the history of the country.
The Irkutsk Art Museum has a significant collection of paintings, graphics and DPI, on the basis of which one can trace the history of the Komsomol at various stages of the development of the USSR. About a hundred works from the museum’s funds make it possible to uncover the avant-garde role and the driving force of communist youth throughout the entire existence of the Soviet state. In addition, the exhibition aims to show through the most striking works the best spiritual qualities and achievements of the young generation of the country. Patriotism, heroism, cohesion at different stages of history, inherent romantic aspirations of young people - all this is talentedly reflected in plot compositions, portraits, landscapes, canvases dedicated to peaceful life, heroes of the Great Patriotic War and participants in great Siberian construction projects. Among the artists included in the exposition are represented both capital masters (Alexander Deineka, Arkady Plastov, Alexander Moravov, Pavel Sokolov-Skalya), and prominent Siberian authors: Gleb Bogdanov, Alexander Shatalov, Anatoly Alekseev, Vitaly Rogal, Anatoly Kostovsky, Vladimir Kuzmin and others.
The exposition is aimed at the widest audience, as well as at specialists (historians, sociologists, educators, artists, students of humanitarian and art specialties).
The exhibition opens on October 25 in the main building of the Irkutsk Regional Art Museum. V.P. Sukacheva (Lenin St., 5) and will work until December 2, 2018. Entrance to the opening is free. Phone for inquiries: 34-01-46.
