October 4 at 16.00 in the Gallery of Siberian Art (K. st. Marx, 23) opens an exhibition dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the birth of the Irkutsk artist, designer and teacher Tatyana Gromyko. The exposition presents her best works of painting and arts and crafts (art painting, textile panels, embroidery, dolls, dresses). The artist’s anniversary exhibition was planned by the museum at the beginning of the year, but now it is dedicated to the memory of the author. Tatyana Gromyko suddenly died this spring.
Tatyana Gromyko is an artist of rich creative possibilities. She conveyed her deepest feelings and thoughts in painting, realizing it as a world of limitless ways of self-expression. At the same time, her still lifes are symbolic and at the same time full of a warm feeling. The heroes of the portraits are spiritualized people, hesitant, living a tense inner life. Many works emphasize the importance of women in this world: whether it is motherhood, the creation and maintenance of comfort in the family, or the introduction of beauty and tenderness into the world.
The artist worked a lot and enthusiastically in different types of art, but she most expressively expressed herself in decorative art. An impeccable sense of style, a modern understanding of folklore, and optimism permeate her textile compositions. For many years Tatyana Gromyko created a collection of costumes based on traditional Russian motifs. Another facet of the master’s work is textile panels using the “patchwork” technique.
The exhibition will open on October 4 at 16.00 in the Gallery of Siberian Art (K. Marx St., 23) and will run until October 28. Entrance to the opening is free. Phone for inquiries: 33-43-89.
