On May 28, 2015, the History of Crimea exhibition opens at the All-Russian Museum of Decorative and Applied Arts, which will present the works of participants in the annual XX contest held by the Charity Fund "Helping Russian Art" (Foundation President Olga Adamishina).
About 25 paintings by young artists of students and graduates of Russian art schools and workshops were selected for the exhibition. The theme of the competition this year is the history of Crimea. Livadia, Yalta, Sudak, Bakhchisaray, Khersones - far from an incomplete list of places shown in the works of the contestants. Kingdom of Bosporus and Naples Scythian, Mongol invasion and Genoa, Crimean Khanate and Bakhchisarai, Russian-Turkish war and Chios battle, Crimean war and defense of Sevastopol, Romanov Imperial House in Crimea, 1917 revolution, Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. - The whole history of Crimea from ancient times to the present day has been reflected in the works of the contestants.
The works of the contest participants are a vivid example of the continuity and rethinking of the traditions of the fine arts of Russian academic schools.
The works of the contest participants will be shown at the annual Svyatoslav Richter Festival in Tarusa. The winners will be awarded a week-long trip to London, accompanying the exhibition of selected paintings.

Charity Fund “Helping Russian Art”
In 2015, the Fund celebrates its twentieth anniversary. At its origins stood Maestro Mstislav Rostropovich and Lord Yehudi Menuhin. The president and founder of the fund is Olga Nikolaevna Adamishina. The purpose of the fund is to provide real assistance to talented Russian youth: gifted artists, musicians, poets. The priority direction of the fund is the holding of annual competitions of students and graduates of art universities.
Dozens of painters and graphic artists from different cities of Russia take part in the competitions.
The competitions are thematic in nature, for example: “The 300th anniversary of Peter’s visit to London”; “Cultural ties between Russia and Western Europe on the threshold of a new millennium”; in 2001 - the “300th anniversary of St. Petersburg”; “Russia is my homeland”; “On the 60th anniversary of the Victory”, “Italy in the works of young Russian artists”, “Great Britain through the eyes of young Russian artists”, etc.
Following the results of the competitions, two winners travel abroad with the Exhibition. Almost a hundred young artists have already visited London, Vienna, Washington, New York, Copenhagen, Milan and other cities of the world.
The Foundation annually holds exhibitions in London, as well as charity concerts to help young singers and musicians in concert halls in Russia and abroad.
