The first joint exhibition of Irkutsk and Chita artists “Artist on Lake Baikal”, which will be exhibited in Chita after Irkutsk, is of great cultural significance and will help strengthen ties between the East Siberian and Transbaikal regions of Russia. The idea of the project arose on the basis of a long-term creative community of Irkutsk and Chita artists, many of whom graduated from the Irkutsk Art College. In recent years, several exhibitions of Transbaikal artists of different generations have taken place in the Irkutsk Art Museum. At the same time, exhibitions of Irkutsk artists, whose works were acquired for the collection of the Chita Museum, were held at the Museum and Exhibition Center of Chita.
At the exhibition of the project “Artist on Baikal”, canvases by masters of the brush of the older generation of Chita artists will be exhibited, including painters of the lyric-epic talent - Vladimir Forov and Yan Shplatov. Baikal in their worldview appears in diametrically opposite states: in the intense-dynamic plasticity of rocks and water space near Forov and the quiet poetic harmony of Shplatov’s chamber compositions.
A striking individuality and already established, recognizable creative style inherent in Yevgeny Titov - one of the leaders of the youth artistic environment of the region. According to the results of the regional exhibition-competition "Bridge through Reality" E. Titov was recognized as the best artist.
The exhibition "Artist on Lake Baikal" will be housed in the Siberian Art Gallery of the Irkutsk Art Museum at the following address: ul. Karl Marx, 23. The opening will take place on October 4 at 15.00. Entrance to the opening is free. The exhibition will run until November 6th.
