The artist is a prominent representative of naive art in Russia, she already has about 30 solo exhibitions across the country. Many of the artist’s works are in museums and private collections, both in Russia and abroad.
Irina Pavlovna Eremenko was born in 1919 in the Smolensk region. At the age of 10, she moved to Siberia with her parents. Childhood and youth were spent in the village of Right Muryuk of Novosibirsk (now Kemerovo) region surrounded by a beautiful and generous taiga. The talent of the artist Irina Pavlovna manifested in 57 years. Already retired, being with her daughter’s family and grandchildren in Kazakhstan, she yearned for the Siberian taiga and, for the first time in her life, took a brush in her hands and drew a pine tree.
The theme of her paintings is always the same - trees. In addition, most of the paintings have developed author’s dedication, wishes of happiness. For her work is important narrative moment, it is necessarily present in the graphic sheets. Each of the graphic images is a deeply intimate experience and at the same time a poetic appeal to the whole world.
The exhibition will open on May 22 at 4 pm at the V.P. Sukachev (st. December Events, 112) and will work until June 16. Entrance to the opening is free. Telephone for information: 53-12-24.
