The artist is a prominent representative of naive art in Russia, she has already accounted for about 30 personal exhibitions throughout the country. Many of the artist’s works are in museums and private collections, both in Russia and abroad.
Irina Pavlovna Eremenko was born in 1919 in the Smolensk region. At 10, she moved to Siberia with her parents. Childhood and youth passed in the village of Praviy Muryuk, Novosibirsk (now Kemerovo) region, surrounded by a beautiful and generous taiga. The talent of the artist in Irina Pavlovna appeared at 57 years old. Already retired, having been with her daughter’s family and grandchildren in Kazakhstan, she yearned for the Siberian taiga and, for the first time in her life, picking up a brush, painted a pine tree.
The theme of her paintings is always the same - trees. In addition, most of the paintings have extensive authorial dedications, wishes of happiness. For her work, a narrative moment is important, it is always present in graphic sheets. Each of the graphic images is a deeply intimate experience and at the same time a poetic appeal to the whole world.
The exhibition will open on May 22 at 16.00 in the Estate of V.P. Sukacheva (st. December Events, 112) and will run until June 16. Entrance to the opening is free. Phone for inquiries: 53-12-24.
