More than 6,000 paintings created by him are stored in the largest museum collections in Russia and other countries, in private collections. Aivazovsky’s works attract the viewer with emotionality, beauty of painting, virtuosity of technical skill.

The exhibition includes works from the collections of the two oldest art museums in Russia: the Kaluga Museum of Fine Arts and the Tula Regional Art Museum. The exposition of the exhibition is built in a special way, allowing the viewer to embark on a sea voyage along the waves of this master’s creative path, following his gradual movement from romanticism to realism. And also, viewers are given a rare opportunity to see paintings stored in museum funds.

In addition to the exposition itself, the exhibition will offer the public a unique entertaining and educational program “Art Illusion“ Enchanted by the Sea ”, which will present the artist’s creative path. In the mesmerizing atmosphere of an ancient living room immersed in the darkness, to the sound of the sea and the cries of seagulls, before the eyes of the audience you will see ancient views of Aivazovsky’s homeland - the city of Feodosia, as well as images of the famous works of the outstanding master.
