February 15 at 16.00 in the Gallery of Siberian Art of the Irkutsk Regional Art Museum. V.P. Sukachev (Karl Marx St., 23) opens an international exhibition of graphics by Taiwanese artists dedicated to the New Year on the Eastern calendar. The main hero of the exhibition will be a dog - as a symbol of the coming year, but also here you can see other signs of the 12-year-old eastern cycle. We add that this is the first exhibition of Taiwanese artists in Irkutsk.
The exhibition brings together more than 60 graphic works performed in various engraving techniques: silkscreen, woodcut, linocut, lithography and others. Cheerfulness and festivity are what distinguish the work of masters from Taiwan. They masterfully own the line and boldly use contrasting color combinations. Creating a special fantasy world, artists inhabit it with good-natured animals, fairytale reptiles, mysterious birds; depict persimmon and citrus fruits, peony flowers, flying fish, symbolizing, according to the traditions of Taiwan, well-being, luck and prosperity.
The exposition is made up of the best works that participated in the contest, which has been held annually by the National Museum of Fine Arts of Taiwan for more than 30 years.
The exhibition will open on February 15 at 16.00 in the Gallery of Siberian Art of the Irkutsk Regional Art Museum. V.P. Sukachev (st. Karl Marx, 23) and will work until March 11, 2018. Entrance to the opening is free. Phone for inquiries: 33-41-12.
