From "02" to "September 20", 2019, the City and Man exhibition is held at the Moscow House of Nationalities. The exhibitors are contemporary artists, members of the Painting section of the Creative Union of Russian Artists.
The exhibition "City and Man" is a long-term international exhibition project of the "Painting" section of the TSH of Russia. The name of the exhibition was deliberately chosen, since the theme of the city and the theme of man are multifaceted and eternal as life itself. Over the centuries, the concepts of “city” and “man” have been interconnected, although people have changed over time, and the cities created by them have changed. For the modern man of the 21st century, the city as a product of urbanism and a product of technical civilization has become a natural part of his life, life, culture; became not only the living environment, but also the environment that gave rise to a new urban consciousness, urban psychology, logic, aesthetics. Thanks to constant renewal, dynamism, concentration of diversity, the city is a place of origin, formation and development of the new. The main purpose of a true city is to be the engine of progress. And man is the creator of this progress. City and people are in continuous interaction. The city as a habitat and a person in this environment systematically and non-stop influence each other.
How does a city man live, what does he feel, what he thinks, dreams of? How is the city developing, keeping traditions and at the same time moving along the path of technological progress? How do people live in cities? How do cities live in people?
The city is a phenomenon. It can be called the workshop of mankind, and the artist’s view is a mirror. The artist builds a dialogue with reality, passing his impressions through the brush, leaving his thoughts and emotions on the canvas. Each artist in his own way understands the theme and concept of the exhibition project. And this fully corresponds to Aristotle’s famous statement “The city is the unity of dissimilars”, taken as an epigraph to the exhibition.
The exhibition "City and Man" is a collective exhibition. It brings together artists of different nationalities from different cities and countries of the world. The exhibitors are recognized brush masters (professors, folk and honored artists, members of the Russian Academy of Arts) and young artists who have just begun their journey in art.
Participants of the exhibition are artists-members of the TSHR (63 people).
The first exhibition "City and Man", organized by the "Painting" section of the TSHR, was held at the Central House of Artists in Moscow in September 2017. The second exhibition was held in the Municipal Gallery of Larnaca (Republic of Cyprus) in May 2018.
This exhibition is held in the halls of the Moscow House of Nationalities, since it is MDN, created and operating on the principles of peace and interethnic harmony, called to unite and unite all peoples.
The exhibition project presents urban landscapes, genre compositions, philosophical works about the city and man, as well as portraits of our contemporaries.
The exhibition "City and Man" is dedicated to the celebration of Moscow City Day, so a significant part of the exhibition works, of course, is dedicated to the capital of our Motherland - Moscow. We are proud that Russia is a large, multinational country, therefore, artworks depicting different cities of Russia, as well as cities of friendly countries of the world, including the twin cities of the city of Moscow, no doubt adorn the exhibition.
The exhibition will appeal to every visitor; It will be interesting to professionals, collectors and art lovers.
