February 2 in the gallery "Izopark" Association "Exhibition Halls of Moscow" opens the exhibition "Where the books overwinter." The exhibition will feature works by children’s book illustrators of the independent community “The Magic Saw”.
The Magic Saw is a community of children’s book illustrators who care about the future of children’s books. Artists are convinced that the book should be sincere, simple, deep, soulful and amazing. They are looking for new languages, experimenting and not afraid to be non-standard, present an adult look at a children’s book and draw something that is not ashamed to show their children.
Among the exhibitors is the new generation of The Magic Saw, the children of artists for whom the very first books were drawn. This year, the community of artists "The Magic Saw" celebrates its eleventh anniversary.
At the exhibition you can see illustrations of both recently published books and earlier works of artists. Colored paper, cardboard, watercolor, gouache, stencil, linocut - the value of the community in that it brings together under the sign of the book a lot of creative techniques, each of which is born as a response to a specific text.
Over the years of the existence of the Commonwealth, many exhibitions have been organized in museums, exhibition halls, libraries, at festivals in Russia and not only. Many illustrators of the Commonwealth have become laureates and diploma holders of Russian and international illustration competitions.
