December 4 at 16.00 in the Gallery of Siberian Art (Karl Marx St., 23) will open the exhibition of the famous Siberian master of graphic art Galina Kurochkina-Domashenko (1939-1984), dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the author. The exhibition - more than 50 works from the collection of the Irkutsk Regional Art Museum. V.P. Sukacheva: portraits, landscapes, compositions on historical and everyday subjects - metal engravings, linocuts, watercolors.
Galina Andreevna Kurochkina-Domashenko (1939–1984) left a noticeable mark on the artistic life of Irkutsk, where she received a professional education (she graduated from the Irkutsk Art School in 1962) and formed as an artist, and Novosibirsk, where she lived and worked since 1974. The master’s works are stored in the State Russian Museum (St. Petersburg), the State Museum of Fine Arts. A.S. Pushkin (Moscow), museum collections of Irkutsk, Novosibirsk, Kemerovo, Vologda, as well as in private collections.
The work of Galina Kurochkina-Domashenko, largely in tune with the works of Victor Astafyev, Valentin Rasputin, Nikolai Rubtsov, is distinguished by a pronounced national outlook on the world. Humor in the spirit of naive art is combined in its works with psychologism, and interest in the traditional everyday life of the Siberian village and the old city with conscientious attention to folk life in the most dramatic periods of its history.
Exhibition “Galina Kurochkina-Domashenko. Graphics ”will open on December 4 at 16.00 in the Gallery of Siberian Art of the Irkutsk Art Museum (23 Karl Marx St.) and will be open until February 2, 2020. Entrance to the opening is free.
