Galina Dulkina is a young porcelain sculptor whose works are already in the largest private collections in Russia and Western Europe. She received high recognition among collectors and art lovers thanks to her rare mastery of working with such complex material as porcelain. Porcelain sculpture requires its creator’s talent as a sculptor, performing a completed form of porcelain mass, and a painter who is able to correctly select colors at all stages of firing a future work. Having mastered sophisticated technology, which has not changed much over the past 250 years, Galina Dulkina works in her workshop, where she alone casts, glazes, paints, burns, gilders and other necessary processes for creating porcelain sculptures. In her work, Galina Dulkina enters into a dialogue with outstanding plastic masters Konstantin Brancusi and Alexander Arkhipenko. The style of her work refers the viewer to the works of Kazimir Malevich and other suprematists. Developing the traditions of the Russian avant-garde and creating its own original format of modern porcelain, Galina creates recognizable works balancing on the verge of figurative plasticity and pointlessness.
The exhibition will be held from 01/27/2017 to 02/22/2017 in the Kabinett Gallery. Free admission.
